Much better than I expected. I thought it would be a silly 'Men in black' thing. Much more human, more like 'close encounters.

The value of this movie is many fold. First, throughout the movie,I wanted to try my methods to communicate with them: singing to them, dancing artfully in a qi gong dance improv mindfully connecting to them sort of way, play, show people hugging, showing 12 peoplesitting on floor (like the 12 pods) holding hands, smiling, laugher, crying, reaching to Abbot and Costello with open hands, with namaste honored hands...and that was inspiring after the movie was over. Next, it was fascnating that she was chosen; her life and her powers and gifts to connect with them and they with her. And it evokes the dimensions of time, the meaning of events, trust, intuition, levels of collaboration, interconnectness, etc Anyone who says this is boring, is IMO, not-intelligent and daft. It is not an action movie. It isa thoughtful inspiring poetic vision of sorts. It would be good to show in classrooms and have discussions following. Lovely.

Even though it has a really high RT score, Arrival is still one of the most underrated movies of the year. Amy Adams performance is transcending, direction & screenplay is masterful and one of the most memorable original scores of the year. Really stick with you for a long long time. Masterful
  • This movie is so powerful and inspiring!

I always believe there is another life planet besides us, its just matter of time that if we can find them or they came by. The universe is probably larger than we think, it could be equal to infinity. I will never made it to that day, the day that we walk in to the universe and discover more lifes. This movie is so inspiring, at least for me, because I want to step in this field of learning universe, something like that, made contribution to this searching process. Go watch it, it is powerful than itself.
  • Decent Story

After watching it recently on Amazon Prime I could see how some may have found it a very appealing story and well made with good acting. On the other hand, it is not a story that appeals so much to me since I suppose I just don't ever see it happening. Also the creatures look too familiar - will leave it at that without spoiling anything. It will be just a one and done watch for me. Not one I would want to own. Amy Adams is in way too many movies. How she get picked for Lois Lane???
  • Regret buying movie

I understood the premise of the movie. I even sat and watched the whole movie. But I found it to be a waste of my time. The movie was slow and hard to follow. Normally I love to watching sci-fi movies but this one, I regret adding to my movie collection. I do not recommend this movie.
