The horror thriller “IT”, directed by Andrés Muschietti (“Mama”), is based on the hugely popular Stephen King novel of the same name, which has been terrifying readers for decades. When children begin to disappear in the town of Derry, Maine, a group of young kids is faced with their biggest fears when they square off against an evil clown named Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.

This movie sucked and was competely over-rated. Very predictable.

This is one of my all time favorite movies. I had low hopes for this movie because it’s 2018, and every horror movie these days are trash. (In my opinion.) OH BUT GOD WAS I WRONG. This is what you want in a horror movie. IT gave you chills down your spine, a little bit of comedy,(Haha go blow your dad you mullet wearing a** whole hahaha) and heart warming scenes. This movie has a bunch of talented kids in it, (same with adults but all the parents in this movie were d**k heads.) over all this is definitely an amazing movie and I really recommend this to horror movie lovers out there. "Bill, if you come with me, you’ll float too, you’ll float too, YOU'LL FLOAT TOO!"

I read the novel, this was a scary book. I found this film ok, the clown just didn’t come off as scary.

I wasn’t expecting IT to be what it turned out and liked the overall theme of the team work and bravery of the kids. Reminded me of stranger things like setup. Overall a great horror movie !

  • Among the best versions of a King novel

    By Furutan1
This is a good, scary movie. Watch it at night on a big screen with the lights down and the volume up. This is the traditional "suburban kids gang" movie in the tradition of Spielberg (and of course, Stephen King), with the horror element mixed in. In this group every kid represents an outsider (almost like they're wearing name tags - fat kid, coke bottle glasses kid, stuttering kid, etc.). It is also one of the limited number of movies based on King novels that is actually a great film. Most have low budgets and fall flat (including the original version of It), but this one works. My only complaint is that every time one of the kids use foul language, it knocks me out of the moment. Perhaps kids in King's (or Spielberg's) neighborhoods were trash mouths, but not in mine. There was absolutely no reason for the dirty language. It did not enhance the film and, for those of us who grew up in a most suburban neighborhoods, it was very out of place. To me, it broke the rhythm and flow of the story. Setting this aside, It is a good film; worth buying and watching every year or so.
