It's Batman vs. Jack the Ripper in an Elseworld's adventure that imagines the Dark Knight over a hundred years ago in a turn-of-the-century Gotham.
Loved the comic; the “Empowering for Womyn” bit lost me on the film.
Feminism has conquered all entertainment media and turned it into ideological propaganda. I’m so done with this.
IT’S. RATED. R....idiots.

I just read a review from someone damning this movie because it wasn’t suitable for children and that it was demeaning to women. This. Movie. Is. Rated. “R”. People! Learn to read ratings people! It’s a big logo right under the title!! Good grief!

Hopefully DC expands on the Gaslight era & make another!!
Lot of untapped potential
The only downfalls are the incredibly short run time and old school animation. This is 2018, and it is quite surprising to see the lack of care or detail given to the animation in a new animated film. Particularly one marketing a selling point of being 4K. There was no definition you would’ve missed in standard def. Just saying. Also...I really wished they had developed the characters more. This was a great story with some good twists and I loved the creativity put into this alternate telling. Just so sad to see this movie end in roughly 70 minutes.
At the $9.99 price, I’d say buy it. It’s one you’ll definitely want to watch again. Especially if you have friends over that are also Batman fans and still have time to hang out after the movie. Also being an alternate telling in an alternate time leaves lots of discussion topics to cover. In all, I really enjoyed it and would recommend it.
Not for young kids. I’m not familiar with the graphic novel source material but I I did enjoy this movie non the less. I like the characters and I liked the story a lot. I think this is the best DC animated film since Batman: Bad Blood. But that’s just my opinion.
I’d like to see more alternate universe titles come to life.
Not really that good. Gave it a 3 because it was interesting time period thing.
Just wow. What a phenomenal job DC did on this one
No good redeeming qualities.

The story strays to far from the source material (which was great) what they added and changed was unnecessary and fan service. The animation was choppy in spots. The acting and casting was a whiffed.
