I enjoyed this love story! Just not sure why they didn't try ice-fishing in the lake. :D
  • A mediocre love story under the guise of a mediocre survival movie

The Mountain Between us fails on virtually every level. The movie was marketed as a survival movie, compared to other movies in the genre it can't hold a candle to it. The actors seem disintrerested and lack chemistry. What is a mediocre tale of survival quickly becomes one of the most forced love plots I have ever seen. The characters unbelievably fall for each other through their ordeal and the film quickly falls apart. The movie goes on for 20 minutes longer than it should culminating in the most cliched love story ending. Find a good love story or find a good survival movie, there may even be good films with elements of both. However, The Mountain Between Us certainly isn’t it.

I can't believe I sat through this movie. It was stupid and predictable. The scene with the mountain lion...really? Those actors should be ashamed to associate their names with that garbage. Terrible!

I absoutely can't get enough of the survivial/disaster genre and while I do generally abhore "drama" or soap opera-like cinema, this was a gem. Not a great script, but how much can one write into a piece centering around suriving a plane crash in a frozen, artic mountain? I thought the dialogue more that kept the characters' reactions relevant and interesing to the viewer. The scenery while not the focal point was beautiful and I enjoyed the ending. It brought the whole picture back around onto the plight in the beginning and the moment the dynamic changed between the two protagonists. Not the best film in this niche, but well worth the watch.
  • Corny and boring

I should have listened to my friend wasted my money on this one.
  • A Good Movie !

Forewarning- a few wee spoilers enclosed: Even though the last scene was a tad corny, not in terms of the sentiment involved, only in how it played out... much like the classic beach scene. I was waiting for them to miss one another or bump foreheads or something ?!! Other than that.. it was a truly engaging, exciting movie. The storyline… all that happened and the surprise elements revealed throughout the film about the characters' life experiences kept me interested until the end. Everyone, including the dog… played his or her role perfectly. Oh, there is one other corny aspect… the mountain lion scene and what occurred is NOT realistic in the context of how it would have occurred in real life, given that particular situation. The mountain lion would have been quite satisfied having the dog for supper. A mountain lion can (with ease) take a single dog down quickly and quietly. Human flesh would have been a lot less appetizing. Well, at least until days later… when kitty-kitty would need some more easy prey. 😊
