Suburbicon is a peaceful, idyllic suburban community with affordable homes and manicured lawns…the perfect place to raise a family, and in the summer of 1959, the Lodge family is doing just that. But the tranquil surface masks a disturbing reality, as husband and father Gardner Lodge (Matt Damon) must navigate the town’s dark underbelly of betrayal, deceit, and violence. This is a tale of very flawed people making very bad choices. This is Suburbicon.

highly reccomend if you've listened to the talking heads at least once, gave me serious david byrne vibes. other than that i loved the plot and cried both times i saw it, can be confusing at times but if you pay attention you'll get it

  • Good movie Rotten Tomatoes do not know how to rate movies.

First, never rely on Rotten Tomatoes rating. Rotten Tomatoes don't know how to rate movies they give 90% to crappy movies. This was a good movie because it pulls you in from the beginning and the suspense of it was good. I am pretty sure the people who will give this movie a bad rating is because of the stupid boycott against Matt Damon.
  • Good Movie

This was a really good movie. It was a dark comedy and a statement on hypocrisy and racism embedded in our country. To those who didn’t listen maybe they saw themselves in the hateful bigotry and sexism of this nation.

    Title tells it all!
  • I liked it for what it was

It was a suspenseful movie with an obvious plot. It was supposed to show how no community was perfect no matter how it looks from outside.
  • Waste of time

It’s like someone made a movie that had a sick mind and guilt of being a racist. Two stories being told that don’t make sense being together. Clooney has lost it.
  • El Floppo

Except for his role in The Martian, which anyone could have played, Matt seems to be sliding downhill in his latest middle finger to conservative America, with Clooney enabling him. It's unbelievably unfunny, and Clooney's sell-through date as a director seems to have expired. Oscar Isaac knows better than to do something like this. He's worthy of much better material. Julianne Moore continues to be unbelievably bland and fails to infuse many of her latest characters with anything resembling energy or life. Pass.
