Don’t waste your time, the whole plot seemed like a joke after an hour in. Rented it thinking my gf would be glad I didn’t pick a horror movie and she found watching this terrible movie was real life horror.
  • Complete and utter tripe

It's a sad day when something as ridiculous as this wins an Oscar. Octavia Spencer was the best part of it, but everything else was a joke. A disgrace to movie making.
  • Really??

This was one of the worst movies that I’ve seen in a while especially after all the hype. Sheesh save your money. Best picture I have now clue how.
  • Good but an oscar!? Really

It's ok. ThaTs it. Not a breakthrough anything. Boinking fish aside.. 15-20 minutes from the end of the movie I was asking myself "wait, what's so good about this?'
  • Awful experience

Want to see a mute girl have sexy with a fish man? Want to see forced tropes and social justice themes? Want to feel awkward the whole time watching it? This movie is for you.
  • Best picture for a reason

This movie will make you feel every emotion and surly take you on an unexpected adventure. You’ll be hooked right away, and definitely won’t be able to turn away
  • Total disappointment

Visually stunning, but if you are looking for something that doesn’t insult your intelligence and doesn’t avoid the most obviously silly plot points meant to shamelessly manipulate, then avoid. Oh, and by the way, if you are ever trying to hide something from the authorities; don’t write dates on your calendar at him and don’t fill the bathroom so that when it floods, neighbors and police won’t be brought to your apartment!!!
  • Average at best

    This is not Oscar material....
  • Beautiful and dumb

Narcissistic mute woman and narcissistic gay man save a sentient being and then risk his life because of their narcissism. Beautifully made.

An Oscar nominated best picture, The Shape of Water doesn't let us down. It does everything a movie telling a story of a monster who isn't a monster is supposed to do. At certain times it felt like a twisted version of Free Willy, and throughout the movie were unnecessary and cliched events that made it more like a pitiful romantic comedy then a drama. But with those things aside, The Shape of Water really delivers to us an amazing movie that denies all expectations and leaves us wondering what happens next.
