Description

Anna (Rebecca Hall) and Will (Dan Stevens), were each other’s first everythings: first kiss, first love, first and only relationship. Now, 10 years in, at Anna’s 30th birthday party, as Will is about to propose, the couple’s best friend makes a drunken toast, suggesting that they should sleep around before their inevitable marriage. The joke lands like a lead balloon, but the thought lingers until Anna proposes that they try opening their relationship – as a sexual experiment. Together, they venture out of the purely monogamous boundaries of their relationship and, along the way, evolve.

You know.. in a sense i liked the movie because it was genuine. Life doesnt always have happy endings. Movies like this in hollywood they sleep around and stay together... they live happily ever after. However this movie basically went exactly the way this scenario would probably go in real life. They both had been together their entire lives and decided to sleep with other people to test their love. To see if they were who eachother really wanted. In the end? She leaves him. He slept around of course just because she was doing it... but thats not what he wanted. She wanted to be with someone else the entire movie but was too chicken 💩 to admit it. She used the idea of experimenting as an excuse to put herself out there but in a way that her bf would be ok with. She basically tried to pawn him off on oother women to ease the guilt she was feeling about wanting to be with someone else. That was a crappy thing to do. He asked her to marry him. She says yes. He takes her to the house he built for her and all the sudden she decides "SIKE. NEVERMIND" then she walks off leaving him broken in the empty house he made for HER. you know... im not surprised the way it ended. Im really not. Doesnt mean i had to like it. I watch movies to escape life and this movie was a little too real for my liking. And the woman was a real creep to this man. And i hate her for it. It wasnt a bad movie but it wasnt a good movie either. I dunno...

Not something that hasn’t been done before. But still done well. Great performances across the board. I enjoy when movies don’t tie everything up in a happy bow and this is one of those movies.
  • A Fun RomCom

A really enjoyable RomCom. Dan Stevens is absolutely hilarious in this--when he gets high with Gine Gershon, I almost fell out of my chair I was laughing so hard. An unexpected and original concept, plus Dan Stevens and Rebecca Hall have great chemistry together (features a beautiful NY brownstone too!).

This is another one of those movies that try’s to make the assumption that if you don’t sleep around you’ll never know how happy you could be. It sends the wrong signals to the youth that even if you’re in a happy relationship you should still sleep around. Bad movie, bad message.

I enjoyed this movie for the most part. I can’t imagine trying this but whatever. It was decent.
