Based on the DC Comics/Vertigo Hellblazer graphic novels and written by Kevin Brodbin and Frank Cappello, Constantine tells the story of John Constantine (Keanu Reeves), a man who has literally been to hell and back. When he teams up with skeptical policewoman Angela Dodson (Rachel Weisz) to solve the mysterious suicide of her twin sister, their investigation takes them through the world of demons and angels that exists just beneath the landscape of contemporary Los Angeles. Caught in a catastrophic series of otherworldly events, the two become inextricably involved and seek to find their own peace at whatever cost.

  • Still love it

After all these years, still love this film (however, if you love the comics, then this might be a pass for you…not like the comics). The only complaint is for iTunes; 14.99 is a bit pricey without any extras. I’d rather get the blu ray for cheap. Other than that, love this film.

First of all lets get this out of the way.! The character of John Constantine IS Keanu Reeves. Don't insult everyone's intelligence by tell people that TV show comes close to the movie. And he blows the comic book away as well. Let's be real; Batman in the movies is not at all like the comic books. I totally agree with everyone who says it needed a sequel. One of Constantine's final words in the movie was "I have some cleaning up to do around here (the city)". Keanu was better in this movie than he was in the Matrix. So do yourself a favor; just watch it at face value. Then you will enjoy it better.
  • If you're a fan of the comic,

Then this movie will be really good. If you've never read the comics, or haven't heard of constantine, you should maybe rent it. It's worth a watch either way.

This is a movie you watch over and over again. The comic character played by Reeves is the rare hero that is fighting heaven and hell. The story is tight and the actors right. The fact is that when the role is strange and creative... Keanu can be so great and never over stylized or deviating from his core personality that makes a fictional character almost believable. Excellent classic that is fun to watch.
