  • Such a wonderful classic!

I watched this movie religiously back in the 80’s, then burned out and put the worn out VHS back on the shelf for several years. Rewind 6 months ago when it aired on TV. I watched it again after 25+ years, and it was like my childhood again. I directly went to iTunes, but the full price was a bit steep for me considering it was nearing the holiday season. I took a step back and waited patiently and faithfully that one day iTunes would display this awesome movie on sale for $10. Guess what? It’s on sale! Yay! I’m moving within the week, and I’m trying to save every penny. But this, I can’t pass up. I’ll consider this “my out” since moving is so wonderfully serene for all those involved*. Definitely a classic among the classics. Can’t wait to relax and dig in within the comforts of my couch with a big bowl of popcorn. 😊💗 *For those who know, moving is anything BUT wonderfully serene. It’s a big ball of anxiety that makes you want to tear your hair out...well the strands I’ve got left. Anyway, thank goodness for movies like Splash. 😝

I love this film. It feels like I watch it every other day, if not every single day. It's very funny and the love story is very moving. This one film proved to me that Tom Hanks would become one of the greatest American actors, something he's proven time and time again.

Who would not like this ,especially from the old days. I just can't figure out why tom hanks and dan ackroyd are not noticed by itunes how great it would be to have the burbs.Think itunes the kids, the parents, you can't go wrong with that movie. A comedy and a sci-fi.I know many people would purchase that one to add to the collection.

"Splash" is a significant film for a few reasons: for one thing, it singlehandedly popularized Madison as a girl's name. It was also the first film released by Touchstone (Disney's banner for adult-oriented fare). In this film, Tom Hanks falls in love with a mermaid who lives off the coast of Cape Cod. The mermaid adopts the name "Madison" on land (after seeing a Madison Avenue street sign) because her real name is a series of high-pitched squeals capable of shattering glass (the scene in which Madison gives her real name is hilarious). But someone is conspiring to cut Madison up. This is a film I would thoroughly recommend.
