When Dublin-based solicitor Tara Rafferty (Amy Huberman, The Clinic) discovers that her fiancé and fellow solicitor, Eric (Rory Keenan, War & Peace), has been cheating on her with a colleague, she breaks up with him, quits her job at the prestigious law firm where they worked together, and begins accepting clients out of a makeshift office in the back of a café. With the help of Ray (Emmet Byrne, Red Rock), her street-smart client-turned-assistant, private detective Meg Riley (Fiona O’Shaughnessy, Utopia), and friend and mentor Senior Counsel Vincent Pike (Neil Morrissey, Line of Duty), Tara takes on a series of cases that often pit her against her former colleagues and the influential families of the legal establishment she is trying to leave behind.

  • Excellent series

    By NYCourtney
The first episode is perhaps the best I’ve ever seen. Perhaps you need to have had a shock like hers to get it, but I think the director, writer and actress do a fantastic job of portraying the dramatic upheaval in the main character's life and then how she picks up the pieces. Loved every single character in this series and hope it will be continued to season 2. Highly recommended.
  • Great Show but...

    By Seeker1107
While the show really is great, I am very surprised that it is only four episodes for a season. Is this a european thing or an Irish one? Even in Israel a season has a minimum of twelve episodes, in the USA they can even go as many as 18+ episodes. I guess while I am elated with the quality, I am disappointed with the quantity. Added 20/02/2018 Just watched it again. It is not Law and Order, and that is a good thing! While the quantity is disappointing the quality is still phenomenal. The actors pull you in and make you feel as their character does. From heartbreak to resolve to strength that shows the underdog as it were should not be counted out. She takes everything they throw at her and stays strong and on the new path that she is carving out for herself and her merry band of associates. Not to be missed.

  • Well Worth A Watch

If there is a complaint to be made about "Striking Out" it is that it ends too soon. 4 episodes was not nearly enough and I can't wait to see what Tara Rafferty (Amy Huberman) does next. Season 2 hasn't even been shot yet so I may be waiting a while.
