No, this show is not for all ages, (In my opinion it’s about 9+) but hear me out: not only is this one of best shows on Disney, but it’s finally showing real life issues that kids really should know about! (Parents may need to explain some of these with younger kids after watching) Example 1: Bex being Andi’s mom. Yes, this was a huge plot twist and it was a big leap for Disney, but this kind of thing happens in real life! Disney expresses this change for the Macks in a relatively innocent way, with plenty of wholesome family moments. This may be reassuring for kids with their own changes at home for their families, which brings me to example 2: Buffy’s mom in the military. Buffy’s mom being overseas (which was briefly mentioned in season one if anyone noticed) informs kids about a very common struggle their peers in military families are facing. Andi and Cyrus’s support for Buffy shows kids how they can help their friends who also miss their parents. Example 3: Jonah having a panic attack. This may help certain kids feel less alone in their struggle with panic and/or anxiety attacks, and the segment after this episode was very informative of strategies of how to seek help or help their peers. Example 4: TJ’s possible learning disability. Having ADHD myself, I know how it feels to have difficulty effectively learning something, and thinking no one else experiences the struggle I do. This is false. There are plenty of other people with learning disabilities, and it’s important for kids to know they are not alone (similar to my last point). Example 5: Cyrus’s crush on Jonah. Can I first just applaud Disney for their bold move to include LGBT 🏳️‍🌈 representation. 👏🏼 I could sense in the first season that Cyrus has feelings for Jonah, but the fact that he came out to Buffy (and Andi eventually) was not only heartwarming, but it shows a big step for representation of the LGBT community. I am so grateful that Disney did this. Think about it: all major characters in Disney shows have been straight. That’s not how our society is nowadays! It’s so, so, sooo important to show young people not to be ashamed of who they are! (Also, in response to one idiotic review: this isn’t teaching kids to be attracted to the same gender! It’s teaching kids that being attracted to the same gender is okay! This show probably helped some boys or girls questioning their orientation to accept themselves! I’m proud of Disney for taking this step, and I hope to see more LGBT representation on future Disney shows.) There are more issues addressed on this show, like Buffy overcoming gender norms, relationship complications, etc, but I really don’t feel like listing them all. Overall, this show is amazing. The acting is good, the characters are incredibly diverse, and the messages, although mature at times, are perfect for kids and I do believe will be influential. Highly recommend!!!!!!
  • So relevant

    By TBanister
We love this show! My husband and I watch it with our three girls. I think Disney has outdone themselves with this show as it is so relevant to today. When I watch it, I feel like I can relate so well to the grandmother and the mother, being a mother myself. Having three girls, I can only imagine how Andi must've felt when she found out about her bio mom. I haven't even begun to say how much I've enjoyed watching the true friendships that are displayed on the show. I'm glad they've shown different cultures. I'm hoping since they have spoken about Judaism and have spoken about the Chinese New year, they will also show Christianity in a beautiful light. This show has so much heart! I hope it goes on for seasons!! Great job, Disney!
  • I love it🤪

Terrible show!! This show is way worse than Haters Back off... ( not a Disney show) Gay stuff 👎🏼drama, and just too much stuff for a child to comprehend. Disney is no longer a kid friendly channel. If you want to bring new stuff to a show start talking about Jesus. (If I could I’d rate this a zero star show) I’m not against gays, but I just believe it’s kinda a disgrace. And Disney is trying to influence little kids that liking you own sex/gender is ok?? Not!!

    Wow good tv show
  • Great show

I’m so happy that Disney Channel Made this show. It’s about time that Disney does a show based on real life and not “fake” life. People need to realize that kids are gay, women have children when they are teenagers, and life isn’t always perfect. Not to mention all these parents saying this is wrong are the problem and why we have bullies in school. Kids deals with this type of stuff in school daily, so instead of acting like it doesn’t happen maybe parents should talk to their children about it. This is actually a show that I like watching with my son as it isn’t fake. I can’t wait for more seasons.
  • The best show ever

    I love you Andi Mack
  • READ THIS REVIEW! Inappropriate for children below age 15!

    By Peacheslove88
This show is not for children, ignore the reviews that say it is. It is for at least 14 or 15+. I would never ever show this show to a child. In my opinion this show is ruining Disney Channel. They advertise that it’s a family friendly channel, but how is that when this show is on that channel?! This show is no where near family friendly. If you want to show your child a great show that is made by the same creator and has GOOD lessons for your child to a show called Lizzie Mcguire. But if your one of those people who don’t mind having your little children watch a girl realize her sister is her biological mother and had her at 17 years old, and having that girl go through boy problems, and having her go through so much unnecessary and mindless drama then go ahead and watch. Kids shows should seriously teach you good life lessons, like past disney channel shows have. Like Lizzie McGuire, That’s so Raven, Suit Life of Zach and Cody, Liv and Maddie, and Girl Meets World. All these shows were hits, and taught children good valuable life lessons. Unlike this show where they shove unnecessary drama down their throats. I watched the first season out of curiosity and boredom, and the first few episodes of season 2. I stopped watching, it was such a waste of time. It felt like I was watching a terrible redo of the show Lizzie McGuire (they were both made by the same creator). This show has way too much drama for little kids to understand. I definitely say this show is a teen show. But everyone has their own opinion and taste in tv, so if your child does show in interest and they are below the age of 14 or 15, parents watch it with them and determine if it’s suitable for your child to watch.
