  • Exceptional Show

What an extremely good show, like nothing else on television. It’s spooky as hell, and I absolutely love the characters.
  • Slooooow and boring

These episodes are a trudge to get through. They could have done this whole show in 3. Instead we have several boring subplots and aimless dialogue that meander from ep to ep. Ugh. This one’s a clunker.
  • Love It!

    Great book and great show!
  • Kind of boring

It’s an ok show, which I started watching because I loved the book. The only problem is that they seriously deviated from the book and I’m not sure why. Many of the changes involve the Eskimo woman and Captain Crozier and their ‘link’. A lot of the stories tension and mystery derived from that link. Now it’s all about Mr. Hickey and Dr. Goodsir. A lot was lost in this tv translation so far.
  • Brilliant sets and performances

Completely transported by this excellent production
  • Can we pick up the pace?

At the end of 4 episodes I find myself wishing The Terror would get on with it. After setting up its premise and defining its characters very well in the first two episodes, It is now, let's say, skating on some pretty thin ice. The storytelling has begun to feel as bleak and monotonous as the lives of the characters, and their cat-and-mouse with whatever is attacking them is less terror than routine. For a thriller-chiller things have gotten pretty slack. I hope the pace will pick up in the next few episodes. Meanwhile, it looks phenomenal, as most TV costume drama does now. The dialogue, even when the plot is dawdling, sounds authentic to the time. And the cast is great. It's just that the story seems to be lagging behind those other elements. That happens a lot in TV costume dramas, too.

Really love this series.. visually stunning and with great performances. I’m reading the book along as each episode airs every week. Its certainly one of the most interesting and gripping tales of survival horror I’ve ever come across! :)
  • Excellent actors in an excellent story

  • as entertainment

as entertainment this is a good show... however everything about it is very made up.... the history itself... the weather... and the wildlife is quite fictitous... however for entertainment... yes its good. To be honest the only thing this has in common with the actual events is that a boat is stuck in ice.....
