Most kids cartoons are unbearable to watch as an adult. I stumbled upon the Octonauts one day when I was just trying to get my one year old to stop crying. Once he saw the funny animals with big heads he’s been hooked. As I watched it with I was surprised to see that each cartoon involved the Octonauts going on actual missions and introduced kids to all kinds of creatures of the sea. I didn’t revolve around the simple animals that you would see on normal shows meant for toddlers like cats, dogs or birds but many different species and even more rare Types that I didn’t even know it existed. But I think that’s the charm of the program, they don’t pander to kids instead they put together very well developed stories that’s actually involve plots( not very complicated ones just the usual let’s go save the animals but still it’s more than most) and are educational and entertaining at the same time. My son is 3 now and he still enjoyes the adventures of the Octonauts today as much as he did when he was a baby.
