Ok... I paid $20 for these few episodes and I done understand why it is so choppy. I have high speed internet and have had no other troubles. WtH?? It is ruining my experience with this series.
  • Too much of a good thing

I know this has become very popular and 'in' to watch and admittedly when I saw the first episode of the first season years ago, I loved Downton Abbey. I watched the first season of year 5 and thought, OK, enough. The Brits have always known in the past when to end a show/series but apparently they've become caught up in the money game of the Americans. Again, enough already!
  • A strong season, but iTunes version is missing scenes

Romantic intrigue abounds this season with at least six story lines. There's a bit of a plot re-tread with Anna and Bates, Mary is back in form, and I found Edith's, Branson's and Thomas's story lines the strongest. After buying the season, I was disappointed to discover about four episodes had edited or missing scenes (as compared to the PBS version). Among them, Cora and Edith at the top of the stairs discussing Gregson; Anna and Bates discussing the package Anna's keeping for Mary--missing. Rosamund, the Dowager, and Cora in Cora's bedroom discussing Edith is shortened to about half the screen time. The episodes suffer slightly for the omissions, so I encourage viewing them on PBS when available.

Would have been great if scenes hadn't been skipped. Some storylines seem confusing when you get to a scene that follows a skipped scene. It's obvious that something happened that you didn't see. The PBS version has scenes that the British version doesn't have. Contrary to what they're saying, they aren't just filler. They make what follows understandable. You are getting the short version here on iTunes.
  • NOT exactly as aired

Love having the crisp resolution of watching DA on my iPad but I am not happy that despite the $ I paid, we are not getting each episode in its entirety. I thought it was my imagination at first but, no, every ep has at least one scene that has been edited to be shorter. :-( Explanation please, iTunes?
  • Just like all my season passes

A lot of people giving low reviews because you can't see each episode prior to air date (which is not completely accurate.) I have never had a season pass except for Penny Dreadful that you were able to watch it prior to its airing on TV. The show itself is great season five and ITunes did deliver the season pass in the same manner it always does.
  • Why I LOVE Downton Abbey on iTunes!

There's a great reason for purchasing Dowton Abbey through iTunes: You can watch each episode over and over again whenever you want! I've never seen a TV serious series I would want to watch over and over again, but a single viewing of each segment never seems to be enough! Each episode of "Downton Abbey" gives us a chance to experience a civility I don't see much in today's world, and don't just chalk it up to the fact that the families are rich. They exhibit a sensitivity, compassion, and respect for one another I wish I could see more in the real world outside Downton Abbey. Add all this to great scripts, acting, direction, lighting, sets, hair and makeup, and every other facet attributed to superb filmmaking, and you have a series always making you beg for more!
